25 May, 2012
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has summoned record from the Defence Ministry regarding the two accused, who were convicted by military court, involved in Pervez Musharraf attack case.
A three-member bench, chaired by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the appeal of the two accused against their court martial by military courts.
Counsel for applicant, Hashmat Habib, contended that civilians could not be prosecuted in military courts, as both accused were not given opportunity to defend themselves. The learned counsel also claimed that there was no witness against his clients. The court asked him to give his written formulations regarding the case. The case was adjourned for two weeks.
