ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has reopened the Nandipur Power Case as it prepares for the hearing on Thursday, 9th August.

SC also issued notices to all relevant authorities including Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), and Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO).

In May 2017, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took over the investigation, calling into question the role of Law Minister Babar Awan – now Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI).

The Nandipur Power Project was initially projected to cost Rs22 billion but ended up costing Rs58 billion due to delays, causing a total loss of Rs113 billion to the national exchequer.
