SAFMA appeals to journalists to support press freedom in Nepal

ISLAMABAD, April 20 (Online): South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA) has called upon the media community in all countries of South Asia to jointly observe the Press Freedom Day on May 3 as a day of solidarity with the media and journalists community under attack in Nepal.
Supporting full press freedom in Nepal, Secretary General SAFMA, Mr. Imtiaz Alam has appealed to all media organizations, working journalists' organizations, editors' bodies and SAFMA national chapter to jointly organize the joint meeting and rallies in support of the demands of the Nepalese journalists for a free press, right to know, right to express, release and reinstatement of all journalists and lifting of censorship and all curbs on the media in Nepal.
The update initial report of SAFMA's fact finding mission to Nepal will also be released on the Press Freedom Day in all countries of South Asia.
