S. Arabia demands action against tour operators involved in human smuggling

ISLAMABAD: The government of Saudi Arabia has lodged a protest to Pakistan against human smuggling under the pretext of performing Umra. According to a private TV channel, the Saudi government through a letter to Pakistan Interior Ministry has said that many irrelevant people accompanying the women pretending to be their relatives come to Saudi Arabia to perform Umra but then slip elsewhere. The Saudi government has demanded action against the tour operators involved in the human smuggling. The ministry of interior has reportedly forwarded the letter to director general FIA Tariq Pervaiz for taking action against the elements involved in the heinous crime. The DG has forwarded the letter to zonal offices at Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Rawalpindi directing the authorities' concerned to keep strict vigil on the tour operators. DG FIA, Tariq Pervaiz has confirmed the letter dispatched by the Saudi government. He vowed that action against the operators involved in human smuggling would be taken.
