Rock slide blocks road

KUNDUZ: A rock slide blocked a road in northern Takhar province, cutting off several remote villages from the provincial capital, an official said Thursday.
Motion of two mountains was recorded two days ago near the salt mine but a portion of a mountain fell on the night between July 31 and August 1, Colonel Attiqullah, administrator said.
He said the rock slide blocked the road connecting several villages to the district centre and the provincial capital. The district chief said high up of the province were informed of the situation but no action has so far been taken to reopen the road.
Spokesman for Takhar governor, a team has been sent to the area and action would be taken in the light of their assessment.
The rock slide has cut off road link between the district, provincial capital and 27 villages, a local resident told AIP.
There was no loss of life and property in the rock slide.
