KARACHI: The Ramazan moon was not sighted on Tuesday and the first of Ramazan will be tomorrow (Thursday).
This was announced by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman after chairing the committee's meeting at the Met Complex here on Tuesday evening.
"It has been decided with consensus that the Ramazan moon has not been sighted on Tuesday," Mufti Munib declared.
Meanwhile, no moon-sighting was reported from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and influential cleric of Qasim Khan Mosque said Ramazan would start from Thursday. It is the first time that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not fasting ahead of the country.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been trying to ensure that the country begins the fasting month on same day.
End.
