Progress made on full dialogue member status to Pakistan: FM Qureshi

PHUKAT: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that progress has been made on the full dialogue member status to Pakistan on the occasion of ASEAN Regional Forum.
While talking Private TV Channel he said that he met with the foreign ministers of several countries in the sidelines of ASEAN Regional Forum. And it was a very good opportunity for him to convey them the Pakistan stance, he said.
Foreigner Minister hoped that foreign ministers of rest of the countries have realized now the role and performance of Pakistan and they will support Pakistan in this connection.
He said that Chairman of the ASEAN Regional Forum has also endorsed the Pakistan’s stance for full dialogue membership status to Pakistan.
Qureshi said that during his meetings with the foreign ministers, the issues pertaining to the assistance to Pakistan, election in Afghanistan, terrorism and peace in the region and overall engagement atmosphere came under discussion.
In response to a question he said that ASEAN Regional Forum was not meant to discuss the bilateral issues. However, the issue of the Indian involvement in Balochistan raised during the meeting between Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Sindh during their meeting in Sharm El Sheikh will be discussed later at the right time.
He said that government of Pakistan can’t want to see Balochistan destabilize. He said that it is will of the government to address the grievances and concerns of the people of Balochistan to address sense of deprivation among them. .
