President Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz's message on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha

ISLAMABAD: President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has stressed the need to promote brotherhood, harmony and affection to overcome problem like terrorism and extremism.
"Setting aside prejudice, hatred, petty ethnic, parochial and personalized considerations, we should make endeavours for development and prosperity of the country and the nation", the President stated this in a message on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.
Extending felicitations to countrymen as well as Muslim brothers, the President said that Eid-ul-Azha reminds of the greater allegiance of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) and the exemplary show of obedience of Hazrat Ismail (A.S).
"Offering sacrifices carries great significance for the Muslim, as Muslim have been following this tradition for centuries", President Pervez Musharraf added.
The President went on to say that the practice of offering sacrifices inculcates in us qualities like audacity, altruism and obedience of Allah.
While offering sacrifice in pursuance of the Prophet's Sunnah, the President said we actually resolve to make any sacrifice in the way of Allah and this leads to attainment of piety, which to me is the purpose of life and the key of success in the world and the life hereafter.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in his separate message extended warm facilitations to all Muslim brothers, sister and elders especially the ones performing Hajj.
"We celebrate this day in memory of the great sacrifices offered by Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) and Hazrat Ismail (A.S) for seeking the blessing of Allah", the Prime Minister added.
The Prime Minister added that the purpose of offering sacrifice is to enable us have complete awareness about the rights of Allah and the people.
By the Grace of God, the Prime Minister remarked that Pakistan is marching on the road of progress and to keep up the pace of this progress we have to do a lot.
He urged to follow the high values of selflessness, spirit of sacrifices and sense of accommodation and to rise above all prejudices to have unity, affection and tranquility among them.
"We have to work hard and shoulder our responsibilities with honesty and we must help the lowly placed segments of the society", he asserted.
The present government is also making endeavours to keep up the pace of progress and promote religious, social, moral and social values the society, the Prime Minister maintained.
