ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's hatred for the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) was so "deep" that it could prompt the cricketer-turned-politician to hurl abuses at politicians.

Addressing a workshop on budget reporting on Thursday, Rashid said that Khan should apprise the public of the last time he went to inquire after an injured soldier.

The minister said that if the war against terrorism was America's war as the PTI chief claimed, then those, who attack mosques, military installations and schools in Pakistan, were fighting whose war.

In a similar vein, Rashid said that while Khan himself flew in private jets, he could not appreciate the idea that the poor should be provided with a metro bus service.

He accused Khan of punishing the public for his defeat in the May 2013 elections, adding that the PTI would lose the 2019 elections as well.

The minister further said that while children suffering from measles in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were dying due to bogus medicine, Khan did not have the decency to visit their families.

Regarding the coming budget, Rashid said the government would prepare a transparent plan which would not entail any discretionary funds for any minister and nor will there be any other secret funds.

He said that the government had only seven days to prepare the last year's budget, adding that the PML-N still takes full responsibility for it even though it didn't have much of a role in that preparation.

End.
