ISLAMABAD: The Defence Day of Pakistan was observed on Friday with zeal and fervour across the country.
Traditional ceremonies and rallies were held to pay homage to the shuhada and ghazis for rendering supreme sacrifices in defence of the motherland. Special prayers were offered for the solidarity, integrity and prosperity of the motherland at all mosques. Wreaths were laid and Fateha was offered at the graves and monuments of recipients of Nishan-e-Haider, the highest gallantry award. The messages from respective service chiefs were read out to the troops.
