ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Syria Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on political consultation on regional affairs in a simple but dignified ceremony to further consolidate and expand friendly relations between the two countries.

The ceremony was held at the Foreign Office.

Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and his Syrian counterpart signed the MOU respectively.

According to the MOU, both the countries will expand cooperation in various fields of bilateral interest on annual basis in a friendly manner.

Foreign Minister Kasuri on the occasion said that Pakistan attaches significance importance to its relations with Syria.

On the other hand, Syrian FM lauded the policies of Pakistan Government underlining that Syria is ready to cooperate in fields of investment, security and trade with Pakistan.
