Pak-Nepal enjoy close, cordial relations: PM

ISLAMABAD, October 30(Online): Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Saturday said that Pakistan and Nepal enjoy close and cordial relations that are marked by mutual respect, sovereign equality and non-interference in each other`s internal affairs.
He observed this while talking to Foreign Minister Ramesh Nath Pandey of the Kingdom of Nepal who called on him. The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan`s continued support for Nepal`s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and economic development.
The Prime Minister announced an interest free credit line of US$ 10 million for the purchase of Pakistani products.
The Prime Minister underscored that Pakistan endeavors to strengthen regional cooperation and enhance SAARC`s global profile. He was looking forward to the Dhaka SAARC Summit next month where he hoped to meet King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.
The Nepalese Foreign Minister conveyed deep sympathy and condolences from King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and the people of Nepal for the great loss of life and devastation caused by the earthquake in Pakistan. The Prime Minister conveyed gratitude for Nepal`s donation of US$ 50,000 and supply of relief goods for the earthquake victims.
Foreign Minister Panday briefed the Prime Minister on the current situation in Nepal, including the King`s roadmap for the local and parliamentary elections.
Foreign Minister Pandey, who is on a 4-day visit to Pakistan, delivered a talk on the "Internal Situation in Nepal" at the Institute of Strategic Studies earlier in the day.
The Nepalese Foreign Minister will leave for Karachi tomorrow where he will call on Governor Sindh. End.
