KARACHI: “PPP time is about to come. After two and half years there would be general elections,” Zardari asked workers while adding that time had come that party leadership should be handover to young generation. “Me and (Qaim Ali) Shah Sahib would take care of government and party leadership would be handover to young lot. With the intentions of Lyari being focus for PPP in coming days and probably one of his kids may contest from Lyari as political leadership of PPP used to do it in past.

Zardari announced on Sunday that the PPP would start conducting public political meetings throughout the country as part of 2018 general elections campaign. This he said while addressing to large gathering of party workers at Kakri Ground, Lyari. PPP earlier announced to hold a public meeting in the area the area once the stronghold of party. While his speech was also launching of new campaign for next local bodies and general elections, Lyari remain the focus of speech as expected.

He also drew a line between party leadership and government. Speech also revolved around Bhuttoism and BB. However he could not stop against criticizing Imran Khan, the man his political challenge could be. Upon Indian-held Kashmir, he took hard-line. “For upcoming elections, we have started our journey. This is first public meeting of the series. Soon I would conduct rallies in Punjab, South Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan,” PPP co-chairman stated. He said if anybody says PP was not popular in Punjab, KP or in Balochistan, he did not agree with him. “Yes there comes a time when those forces who work against PPP, create hurdles and make life difficult. He asked workers not to be pessimist as there was a time when BB had only 14 seats. PPP has spread all over the country, he said.

“Two of my children were born in Lyari. Bilawal is interested about Lyari that often he visited Lyari, even though I used to stop him. Lyari also chose me as member of National Assembly. Untill Bilawal and Asifa join politics, I will hold the party flag. announced one billion packages for Lyari besides announcing to establish an engineering college.
