POL, CNG prices increased further

ISLAMABAD: The government on Sunday approved an increase in the prices of petroleum products and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) effective from July 1.
The price of petrol was raised by Rs2.66 per litre, high speed diesel by Rs3.66 per litre, light speed diesel by Rs3.04 per litre; kerosene by Rs2.50 per litre and high octane by Rs2.36 per litre.
After the increase, petrol will now sell at Rs102.43 per litre; high speed diesel at Rs92.17 per litre; kerosene at Rs90.29 and high octane at Rs126.77 per litre.According to sources, a summary forwarded to the Ministry of Finance by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) proposed Rs2.66 per litre hike in the prices of petroleum products.
The summary was approved and the new prices would be effective from July 1.— INPOnline adds: The Petroleum Ministry on Sunday approved a raise in the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) following a 9 percent increase in the General Sales Tax (GST) on the commodity.
According to sources, the CNG price in Region-1 (Potohar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan) has been hiked by Rs2.54 to Rs75.48 per kg, while its price in Region-II (Sindh and Punjab) has been raised by Rs1.85, pushing it up to Rs66.75 per kg.
