PML-Q and Sunni Ittehad Council form election alliance

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and the Pakistan Sunni Ittehad Council have joined hands and agreed on seat adjustment in the upcoming elections.
The PML-Q leadership said that the party's alliance with the Pakistan People's Party would remain intact and positive headway would be made for grand alliance with parties having national thinking in all the four provinces.
The PML-Q and the Pakistan Sunni Ittehad Council vowed to remain united for enforcement of Nizam-e-Mustafa with true spirit, security and betterment of the people and supremacy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Agreement on seat adjustment was during a meeting of the leadership of both parties in Faisalabad on Tuesday. Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Deputy PM Pervaiz Elahi, Moonis Elahi, Muhammad Basharat Raja and Zaheeruddin Khan represented the PML-Q delegation, while the Sunni Ittehad Council was represented by Sahibzada Fazal Karim, Haji Hanif Tayyab, Peer Akram Qadri, Moeenuddin, Fazal Ayyaz, Nawaz Khokhar and Hamid Raza.
After the meeting, Shujaat said that the PML-Q would move ahead along with the Sunni Ittehad Council and invite more religious and political parties to join this caravan.
He said that the country was facing various problems and no single party could resolve the problems, so all the national forces would have to work together.
The deputy PM said, "The alliance is the result of our one-year long talks, adding that the alliance of both parties will greatly benefit the poor people of the country."
Sahibzada Fazal Karim said that that the alliance had come into existence for supremacy of the holy Quran and Sunnah for enforcement of Nizam-e-Mustafa in the country.
He added that they would work together with those parties which were nearer to their cause.
