ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Tuesday constituted a four-member committee to look into the case of Dr Aafia Siddique, who had been sentenced in US on charges of attacks on US Marines in Afghanistan.

Raja held a meeting with Aafia's sister Dr Fauzia Siddiqui and former US attorney general Ramsey Clark, who called on the prime minister at the PM's House on Tuesday during which matters relating to Dr Aafia case were discussed in detail.

Raja informed Dr Fauzia that a four-member committee had been constituted which would be headed by Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and include ministers of law, interior and human rights to further look into the matter.

Raja gave her a very patient hearing and said that he understood the agony the family was going through.

He assured her of all possible assistance, a spokesperson of the PM's House said.

End.
