ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has awarded 8 satellite TV channels licenses and 10FM radio licenses including one for Campus Radio to Riphah International University Thursday at PEMRA Headquarters Islamabad.

With the award of these licenses, the number of licensed satellite TV channels in Pakistan has grown to 56 .while number of licensed radios has gone up to 116.

New satellite TV licenses were awarded to Geo Entertainment , Geo News , AAG TV , AAJ Entertainment , Kook and Din News channels. FM Radio licenses were awarded for the cities of Mianwali, Khushab , Narowal , Sanghar , Shikarpur , Badin , Naushero Feroz and Tharparkar.

Another education purpose FM radio license was also given to Riphah International University Islamabad.
