Our Anne Frank... By Niaz

15 October, 2012

In my opinion, little Malala has been triumphant in her mission. She challenged the draconian idea of the ruthless Taliban to bind and enslave girls by shutting them up inside the walls of ignorance from where they could rule over them against their will. Just looking at the pictures of Malala where she is beaming and full of life is enough to motivate one in these testing times. She is head and shoulders above her contemporaries as she stood strong and broke free from social taboos that very few dare to do.

Malala, the voice of the oppressed group, emerged like the light of a renaissance and left shattered the customs imposed by these patriarchal brutes who advocate the idea of enslaving a girl by robbing her of her basic rights, i.e. education and knowledge. She rejected this idea by echoing Bill Russell's words, "We do not have to be what you want us to be." She translated her thoughts into action so swiftly and effectively that the Taliban, frightened by the 14-year-old girl's will, decided to eliminate her once and for all. However, for ideas to be eradicated and to finish the individual who gives birth to them is unwise because it further promotes them.

Let us wait and see, if given another life, what Malala will do next. She has demonstrated herself as another Anne Frank by writing a memorable and strongly personal diary, scaring the so-called 'guards' of religion the Taliban.
