ISLAMABAD, April 12 (Online): One minute silence over the sad demise of head of Catholic Church Pope John Paul II was observed on Monday during National Assembly session on Monday while "Dua" was offered for the departed soul of father of MNA Mehrin Anwar Raja.

Mourning the sad demise of the Pope, the parliamentarians noted that Pope John Paul II deat was not only a tragedy for Catholics and Christians but his death news touched people of all faiths across the world.

"Pope John Paul II all his life stood for love and inter-faith harmony," they added.

Lauding Pope's religious contribution, they noted that the Pope had made earnest efforts to bridge the gap between religions of the world and served humanity.

Earlier, a resolution was passed unanimously during the NA session, which would be sent to Vatican in recognition of Pope's services to humanity.

State Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Khisru Bakhtiar while paying rich tribute to Pope John Paul II asserted that Pope had rendered great services to create inter-faith harmony among various schools of thoughts of the world.

Fateha was offered over the sad demise of MNA Mehrin Raja's father during the session.
