UNITED NATIONS: The Organization of the Islamic Conference Group in New York has strongly condemned the blasphemous Dutch film and demanded legal action against its release.
The demand for legal action by the Dutch government was made in a statement issued here by Pakistan’s U.N. Ambassador Munir Akram in his capacity as chairman of the OIC group.
“The film, distorts the message of Islam by selective and out of text quotation as well as biased interpretation of the verses of the Holy Quran, the statement said.
The OIC Group said the film violated various articles of the International Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights that prohibit any advocacy of racial or religious hatred.
