No commission acceptable till Nawaz remains in office: Imran

LAHORE: Rejecting the judicial commission as proposed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif till he resigns, Imran Khan has warned that the rulers will dig their own graves if his party's Azadi March is obstructed.
"No judicial commission is acceptable as long as Nawaz Sharif holds the office," said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman while addressing a press conference at his Zaman Park residence, shortly after the PM's speech.
Imran ruled out all options of reconciliation with the Nawaz government and said if he, or the members of his caravan, were harmed during the march, the sitting government would be responsible for it and would be responsible for that and it would 'dig' its own grave.
The PTI chief, who was flanked by Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Dr Shireen Mazari, opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and others, also said that the prime minister portrayed himself as a very 'innocent' person in his speech. He said although he could not hear the entire speech of the premier due to his Data Darbar visit, he noticed very well his (Nawaz) 'innocence'. He said for more than one year, he and his party kept running from pillar to post in search of justice but failed to get it. He said after 14 months, the announcement of setting up of a judicial commission or claims of redressing our complaints about election rigging seemed strange.
Imran said his differences with Nawaz were not personal, but ideological as the very first thing which the nation found in every era of the PML-N was the murder of merit. He said after coming to power, "our innocent" PM appointed his close relatives to key posts and opened another gateway of nepotism, corruption.
Imran said the prime minister appointed his daughter as the head of a Rs100 billion project, his close relative Ishaq Dar as the finance minister and his nephew, Abid Sher Ali, was given the charge of another important ministry, Wapda and rather than providing relief to the nation, the country was further pushed into darkness.
He said all luxuries of life were for the Sharif family, while for the countrymen electricity prices were increased by 80%. Imran said he would soon make public proofs to show that a Sharif family member was making money through commission from a Turkish company working in Pakistan. He said whether it was Nandipur or any other, all projects were only confined to newspaper advertisements.
He said those who helped Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz commit rigging were rewarded and posted to lucrative posts. He advised the prime minister to pay heed to the speech of his own Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who, on the National Assembly floor, admitted that 60-70 percent votes were unverified in 2013 elections. Imran said how we can accept the election results when that much of polled votes had no verification.
Meanwhile, the PTI leadership received serious flak from the party workers and the media people due to manhandling by the police as well as the PTI members, who were deployed at the entrance.
When a group of media persons from different organisations went to Zaman Park to attend the press conference, they were denied entry by the PTI 'Razakars' deployed at the entrance, which eventually resulted in serious verbal clash and brawl between the two sides. The PTI media managers including Punjab Secretary Information Andleeb Abbas were not present at the entrance to facilitate media persons. The reporter of a private TV channel was treated badly and other media persons had to interfere to save him. Later, PTI MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal reached the entrance to help out journalists.
PTI ticket-holders - Barrister Hammad Azhar and Hamid Meraj - and their supporters were denied entry to the venue by the PTI security as well as the police. Dozens of PTI woman workers, who were not allowed to enter the venue, severely criticised the 'mafia' surrounding Imran nowadays.
