Nazim vows to develop Hawksbay water front area

KARACHI - City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal has announced that the waterfront area of Hawksbay would be developed as a most beautiful beach area coparaable best area in the of the world with all modern facilities to be provided for women, children and common man. He also instructed to start the work to make this area into role model recreational site to attract the masses. This he was announced during a visit of Hawksbay area and also took serious notice of a large number of warehouses and other constructions which there.
In a briefing, Nazim was informed that before the construction of 14 kilometer road with the amount of Rs193 million from Greek Village to Hawksbay, the entire land on the both sides of the road was emptied. A large number of warehouses had been constructed which has resultantly caused the heavy rush of traffic and congestion on the road as well as affected the importance of waterfront area. He was also told that after the development of beach site into as industrial zone, the people of Karachi will be deprived of recreational activities on the site on beach.
Nazim took serious notice of the illegal construction of warehouses and instructed to seal these structures and remove other industrial establishments in the area. He further directed EDO Revenue and Chief Controller KBCA to submit a report of industrial land position within three days and also check approval designs and NOCs for constructing warehouses in the area.
“Karachi is the only city of Pakistan which has seaside area where a great number of people visit for recreational purposes. City District Government Karachi will develop Hawksbay, Sandspit, Paradise Point and other areas like Clifton beach to provide recreational facilities to the visitors”, he added.
He also said that the Hawksbay truck stand would be transferred near Northern Bypass while the planning would also be done to move warehouses on Northern Bypass area. He also instructed officials to build concrete wall on the both sides of the road from Hawksbay to Truck Stand and it will prevent from encroachment in the area. Nazim Mustafa Kamal had instructed KBCA to take stern action against the violator to construct illegal warehouses in the area.
He also visited the residential area to provide shelter to the affected people of Lyari Expressway project.
