NY Times tried to underscore importance of President Bush visit to Pakistan

NEW YORK, March 10(Online): Press attaché of Pakistan Mission in the United Nations, Mansoor Sohail categorically stated in a letter to the editor of American Newspaper "New York Times" published on Wednesday that the concerned newspaper in a recent editorial topic " POINTLESS TRIP TO PAKISTAN) tried to lessen the importance of recent visit of President Bush to Pakistan.
He pointed out that the concerned newspaper completely ignored the geographic and strategic importance of Pakistan and effective policies adopted by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
Mansoor Sohail clearly stated that it was not possible for United States to start war against terrorism without the cooperation of Pakistan and in fact would not be win without the useful cooperation of Pakistan, he added.
He said that United States needs the cooperation of Pakistan who is a nuclear power and sustainable peace in South Asia is impossible without the cooperation of Pakistan.
He said that efforts made by Pakistani government to make Pakistan a enlightened and moderate country would definitely positive affect on USA.
He said that Pakistan is a big market for South Asia, Central Asia and West Asia and the USA should consolidate its relations with Pakistan. End.
