IsLAMABAD – The National Assembly adopted a resolution on Monday, expressing condolences with cyclone-affected people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on loss of lives and injuries to hundreds of people.

“This House expresses deepest condolences with the cyclone-hit people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said the resolution read out in the House by Minister for Provincial Coordination, Riaz Hussain Pirzada. "This House expects that the provincial government will ensure all possible treatment and other humanitarian assistance to affected people,” it resolved.

The National Assembly further urged the federal government to extend all necessary assistance to rain-affected people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Separately, the lower house also expressed condolences on tragic deaths of citizens of Nepal in a devastating earthquake. "The representatives of the people of Pakistan express deep condolences on death and injuries due to earthquake in Nepal,” said that the resolution read out by Minister for Provincial Coordination, Riaz Hussain.

"This House and the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with the calamity hit people of Nepal and the Nepalese government,” it said. The House also urged the government to extend generous humanitarian assistance to Nepalese people in this hour of turmoil.
