Musharraf discusses his new ideas on Palestine issue with Hosni Mubarak

ISLAMABAD: President general Pervez Musharraf discussed the current situation of Middle East by telephone with Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and appreciated the agreement reached between Hammas and Al-Fateh in Mecca saying the accord will help ensure peace in Palestine.
Foreign office sources told Online both the leaders voiced grave concern over digging work started by Israel near al-Aqsa mosque and stressed that Israel should not violate the sanctity of religious places of Muslims as it would further deteriorate the situation.
They urged the international community and UN to stop Israel from taking such steps.
Egyptian president appreciated the new ideas floated by president Musharraf for settlement of issue of Palestine and establishment of peace in Middle East. He fully backed the ideas saying that such endeavours on the part of President Musharraf will help forge unity among Muslim Ummah besides addressing the problems.
President Musharraf discussed at length with his Egyptian counterpart President Hosni Mubarak the new ideas for settlement of Palestine issue.
Both the leaders agreed on promoting and sustaining the interactions between them.
