ISLAMABAD: President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has appeal to all businessmen and traders to ensure proper supply of essential commodities on cheaper rates in the holy month of Ramzan.

In their separate messages on the occasion of holy month of Ramzan, the President and PM has said that it is a sacred month in which the creator of the Universe revealed Quran for the eternal guidance and righteousness of mankind.

President in his message has said that by following the socio-economic principles based on justice and equality the hatred and enmity can be extirpated in the holy month of Ramzan.

He was of the view that the great book teaches human rights and responsibilities, mutual love and brotherhood.

He further said that this month brings for us the blessings, divine mercy and forgiveness. Fasting, an important aspect of the month a way for the purification of hearts and minds. The fasting is also a source to learn great values and realize the importance of patience, steadfastness and sacrifice, he added.

Today, we must not deviate from fulfilling the responsibility put on us by religion and our country, but perform our daily life routine in accordance with the propagation of Islam`s great, glowing and balanced teachings, President maintained.

He said that it is unfortunate that some opportunists elements do not refrain from the bad and vile act of selling items of common use exorbitantly.

The President directed concerned government officials and appeal to all businessmen and traders to ensure proper supply of essential commodities on cheaper rates throughout the year, especially in the holy month of Ramzan.

By discouraging hoarders and giving value to the happiness and wishes of common people, poor and needy, the concerned public departments should keep in mind that this act would not only help accomplish them their national obligation but also attain reverence before Allah Almighty, he concluded.

The Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in his message said that Ramazan is one of the most revered months by Allah Almighty as the Holy Quran was revealed upon the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in this month. Lailatul Qadar also falls in the last ten days of this month.

He said that Ramazan holds another special significance for the Muslims in Pakistan, as their country came into existence on 27th of Ramazan. The basic objective of the fasting is to inculcate fear of Allah Almighty, humbleness, submissiveness and fraternity among the people, he added.

He further said that this mode of worship develops self-control and inculcates a desire to do good and to confront evil. This can only be achieved when a person conscientiously abstains from the deeds forbidden by Allah Almighty and does only those ordained by him. It these essentials are not followed, the fasting merely becomes an exercise of remaining hungry and thirsty, he maintained.

He continued that this is our responsibility to work with dedication to achieve the discipline and fight the elements fanning sectarianism, extremism and injustice.

End.
