ISLAMABAD, June 23 (Online): Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has directed all ministries and concerned state departments to pass the breaking news to state media first and put a stop to giving breaking news to all private media.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting through a circler directed ministries and other state departments to pass all breaking news only to PTV, Radio Pakistan and APP despite private media while these ministries and state departments are also directed to put a stop to giving breaking news to private TV channels and news agencies.

Sources told that Information Ministry took this step as strategy to cope with the challenges posed to state media by the private media.
