KARACHI: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has assured to update Pakistan about the development of Samjhota Express incident in which 68 Pakistanis were killed and dozens other injured. Islamabad is in contact with New Delhi and would inform the nation whatever reports is received from the neighbouring country about the deadly incident, said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz while addressing a cheque distribution ceremony among the Samjhota Express affected people held here on Sunday. The Prime Minister said our intelligence agencies had been separately conducting investigation into the incident. “ We have asked India to inform us regularly about the development comes through,” he added. Shaukat Aziz demanded of the Indian government to step up security of the terrorism-hit Samjhota Express, as Pakistan had already taken concrete steps on its own. “The incident took place due to lack of security”. He said the government had arranged a C-130 plane for airlifting the injured of the incident but India gave permission after two days. “Terrorism is no solution to any issue rather it give birth to other problems,” the prime minister added. He said Pakistan wanted solution of all outstanding issues including Kashmir dispute with India through talks; however, the latter was required to come forward and show flexibility. The prime minister distributed a cheque of Rs. 5 lac among the families of each victim of the Samjhota Express. However, some bereaved families could not get cheque due to incomplete documents.
