MQM stages token walkout on Karachi killings

06 June, 2012

ISLAMABAD: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday staged a token walkout from the National Assembly against the killings and deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi.

MQM MNA Asif Hasnain had earlier drawn attention of the government towards the issue, demanding across-the-board action against criminals.

"Even today five people have been killed," he said, adding, "We demand that government should work to restore peace in Karachi."

He said his party did not want action on ethnic basis. "We want action against criminals to improve the law and order situation in the city," he said.
