ISLAMABAD, May 24 (Online): The Muttahida Majlis-e-Aamal, a grouping of religio-political parties, has accused 'a very inexperienced' minister of Shaukat Aziz led cabinet of getting issued an edict opposed to suicide-bombings by Muslims 'in haste' and alleged the decree appeared to have been issued on foreign dictates.

Talking to a private television, MMA deputy parliamentary leader in National Assembly Hafiz Hussain Ahmad said the inexperienced religious affairs minister (Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain) who knew little about Islamic principles, had got issued a fatwa (edict) from ulema against suicide-attacks by Muslims.

"Suicide bombings entirely depends on the intent of its perpetrators. Committing suicide is forbidden in Islam. But the rule does not prevent a Muslim from killing a non-Muslim who wants to hurt either Muslims or their faith", he said.

He said he thought the government had got issued the decree 'in haste' to please its foreign masters.
