LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday said that those who shed the blood of innocents are the enemies of humanity and the political and religious leaders who openly support such elements also fall in the same category, Geo News reported.

According to a statement issued here at the MQM's London Secretariat, Altaf Hussain was talking to members of Pakistan's national and provincial assemblies and others who called on him at his residence.

"Those terrorists who slit the throats of army men and police personnel besides openly killing innocent citizens by carrying out suicide attacks on mosques, Imambargahs and shrines are the enemies of humanity," the MQM chief reiterated.

He said the political and religious leaders who instead of condemning these terrorists give them the status of Shaheed (martyr) are also foes of humanity. "The people will have to unite against such elements," he asserted.

He said the time has come when the patriotic political and religious leaders and notables belonging to all schools of thought must come forward and distinguish between the friends and foes of humanity. He regretted that on one hand sit-ins and protest demonstrations are being held against US drone attacks while on the other hand dollars are also being received from the same US.

End.
