BERLIN: Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri strongly criticized the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal.

Talking to German daily Schzudon Allcemine Zeitung, he said the deal would put stability of the region into danger.

India will import nuclear fuel and use its resources on its military nuclear programme. If its desire cheaper energy to meet its energy needs, less environmental pollution and war against poverty through the deal, then Pakistan is also confronted with same problems, he added.

When told that India is a democratic country and Pakistan lacks it, Kasuri questioned that what is the definition of democracy? If it is freedom of press and expression of freedom then Pakistani press is making criticism largely then anyone in the Asian countries.

Our democracy is flawless and we are moving towards genuine democracy. If some wants to find and excuse them he will get it, he maintained.

He said Muslim world believes that west is adopting double standards adding that the UN resolutions on Kashmir and Palestine are not effective because these are issues of Muslim world.

No one concentrates on problems of Muslim world, he noted.

End.
