ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak on Sunday dismissed rumours that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to dissolve the provincial government in a bid to press the federal government to resign.

According to media reports, rumours were rife in the federal capital that Imran Khan would announce dissolution of the provincial government during his address in the sit-in on Sunday.

Earlier, a private TV channel on Sunday reported that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was considering dissolving the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in a bid to reassert its demand for resignation of the prime minister and reformation of democratic system in the country.

The PTI has been mulling to dissolve the KP Assembly as well as resigning from the Punjab Assembly to pressurise the incumbent PML-N government to accept its demands. Imran has summoned all his ministers and senior party leaders to discuss the issue.

End.
