KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Thursday instructed the joint investigation team (JIT) to recover all missing persons by January 24 and also submit a report in this regard.

According to details, a two-member bench headed by Justice Naimatullah heard the missing persons case at the SHC.

During the hearing, the petitioner, who is the mother of one of the missing persons, Raees, said that her son has been missing for two years and he was an employee of the Water Board.

Justice Naimatullah expressed anger as the government lawyer was not present and stated that the JIT or the attorney general’s office has not put forward any progress regarding the case.

Moreover, the judge also said that he was disappointed with the performance of the police and lawyers as there has not been a satisfactory answer from the Sindh advocate general office either.

The court then ordered that the detainment centres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to be searched and asked the authorities to take help from the KP government in order to recover the missing person.
