LONDON: First day hearing of ball tempering case against Inzamam-ul-Haq in Oval test was held here Wednesday.
Assistant Chief Referee David Spank told journalists that ICC Chief Referee Ranjan Madugale has recorded the statements of all witnesses of the case on the first day. "The Chief Referee will submit the report today (Thursday) after which final decision would be announced", he added.
He further told that Pakistani skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq has submitted his statement in detail after which the controversial umpire Darrel Hare presented his point of view.
Meanwhile, statements of other two umpires of the match were also recorded on the occasion.
The hearing was held in a closed room where no media or any other unconcerned person was allowed.
