ISLAMABAD: An invisible security blanket still persists around the residence of nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan for his safety. When a our sources team visited Khan’s residence on Sunday, the plainclothes security officials camping in front of the building inquired about the purpose of the visit and asked the team to get an appointment first. They said they were not concerned with who was coming to visit Dr Khan nor was it their job to facilitate the visitors. Asked why they were camping in front of the residence, the security officials said, “Everyone, including us, are Dr Khan’s servants and we are here to serve him.” A police spokesman said Dr Khan was free go anywhere he wanted to, adding that neither the capital police had restricted his movement earlier nor did it intend to do so in the future, APP reported. The Lahore High Court had ordered the authorities on Friday to lift restrictions on the nuclear scientist’s movement after he had called it a violation of his fundamental rights. End.
