In the Name of Democracy
16 August, 2016
Our politicians castigate each other in public by calling each other corrupt and using expressions like, “we will drag them in the streets when we come to power”, “ We will bring back every penny looted by them and stashed in Foreign Banks”, “They are American stooges (pithoo)” --- --- blah
blah, but in private we see them inviting each other for talks and negotiations saying, “our doors are open for talks with anyone”, “we would not like to derail democracy in any way etc. etc.”
What’s is all? Is it a some kind of a joke being played on us the hapless masses by such politicians?! Once someone knows someone to be corrupt, knows someone stashing away billions of looted money in foreign countries, knows and has proofs for someone’s corruption to the tune of hundreds of billions and yet not proceed against him/her/them in the name of democracy ?!! Arn’t they answerable to anyone – above all to their own conscience and to the oath of the office taken by them? Don’t they turn themselves to be equally an accomplice to the same crime that they knowingly don’t proceed against the culprits?! What can be done against such political leaders and who shall do it? Where is the Messiah to come to the rescue of the nation and shut the doors of the power corridors to such corrupt , dishonest, and power hungry political rulers in future who once in power not only overlook all crimes o! f the previous regime but also invite them for negotiations and hold parleys with the known corrupt and dishonest just to stay in power and then ironically justify their such actions in the name of saving democracy?!! If the NAB cannot rise to the occasion, God alone knows for what reasons, then what stops the higher judiciary from saving the country from the clutches of such vultures?!
