27 October, 2014
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that the likes of Islamic State (IS) militant group are also present in Balochistan who are an obstruction to the development of the province.
He said this talking to media here on Sunday after attending a literary ceremony at Balochi Academy. He further said that security arrangements have been tightened during the month of Muharram and various check-posts have also been set at various points in the city.
He said that the security arrangements have been handed over to Frontier Corps (FC) during Muharram as protection of Quetta on traditional lines remains no more feasible.
"We want to make Quetta secure through modern technology," Baloch said and added that steps have been taken to secure the incoming and outgoing ways of Quetta.
He said that sectarianism has inflicted huge loss on the province, adding that the current deterioration of law and order is a direct corollary of the past mistaken policies.
"Few factions want to impose their policies by force which is not acceptable at any cost," CM said.
