I will quit if interim govt's term extended: Khoso

ISLAMABAD: Interim Prime Minister Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso on Sunday said holding fair and transparent elections was his top priority and he would quit if the tenure of the interim setup was extended.
Talking to media persons at the Balochistan House after getting official protocol, Khoso said he would try to conduct free and free election as per schedule.Khoso said the period of interim government would not be extended come what may. He said his appointment was significant for Balochistan and he would try to take all nationalist parties on board.
To a query about negotiations with the Taliban, Khoso said it was too early to say anything on this critical issue. He said his behaviour towards the opposition and all other political parties would be pleasant and friendly.
Khoso said he would introduce good people in his cabinet that would consist of 10-12 members only. He said only elections were solution to all the issues, adding that he would meet with all the political leaders soon.
Commenting on the law and order situation, the premier said it was the responsibility of the provinces to maintain it adding that the provinces would also be consulted on the issue.The premier expressed his strong resolve to hold free, fair, transparent and timely elections and expressed the hope that he would come up to the to nation's expectations.
"I would be meeting everyone to ensure a consensus on free, fair and transparent elections, being my top priority, to be held on the due date," he declared.Replying to another question, he agreed that the volatile law and order situation was a big challenge to the government. Referring to the Balochistan issue, he affirmed that elections would also be held there under any circumstances.
"I have a very good relationship and rapport with the caretaker CM Balochistan, which should help things turn good," he avowed. "I would also hold talks with the Sindh caretaker CM about the same situation," he said. He expressed his ignorance about the MQM's reservations about the delimitation process in Karachi.
