Former finance minister Ishaq Dar Sunday said he doesn’t own any property anywhere outside Pakistan, a private TV channel reported.

Dar refuted the claims of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant Shehzad Akbar that he owns two apartments in London by calling it ‘contrary to facts’. “These accusations are part of a campaign launched against me. If Shehzad Akbar is telling the truth, he should also disclose the details of the apartments,” he said.

An accountability court has already ordered auction of Dar’s assets besides confiscation of his bank accounts in Pakistan on a plea by the NAB. The plea was filed after the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader went to London for medical treatment and continues to abscond in corruption cases against him in the accountability court.

The former finance minister said that the government is levelling baseless allegations against him to deflect people’s attention from its failure in addressing the genuine issues. He called the allegations a part of PTI’s traditional politics, adding that the PTI government is using the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for political victimisation.
