15 July, 2014
MULTAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday said he was a representative of the Muslims while the Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan 'represented the Jews'.
Talking to media persons here at Madrassa Khairul Madaris, Fazl said the democratic process must be allowed to continue in the country. "Let democracy prove to be a successful experiment," he added. The JUI-F chief said law and order is Pakistan's internal matter.
He said public demonstrations and protests were fundamental rights of the people and the government should not be afraid of them.He added that there should have been another date for the protest rallies of the PTI and PAT instead of August 14.
Fazl said his party had also been a part of several 'million marches,' adding that such protests did not bear fruit. He said that anti-US mindset in the country would not be satisfied as long as "we are called America an ally."
He said getting the Coalition Support Fund did not go well with the claims of not being part of the global coalition in the war on terror. "We need to get out of these contradictions," said Fazl.
Commenting on the ongoing operation Zarb-i-Azb in North Waziristan, he said that wars had never eradicated enemies. "The operation in Swat did not completely eliminate the terrorists from there," he added. End.
