ISLAMABAD: Hussain and Hassan Nawaz, sons of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, have had their names placed on the blacklist. As a result, they will be unable to use their passports to travel.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had also asked for their names to be placed on the Exit Control List (ECL). The interim government, however, is yet to act on this request.

Since then, NAB has asked the Passport Directorate to place the sons on the blacklist. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has also been corresponding with Interpol to issue red warrants to arrest the sons.

All these developments follow the decision of an accountability court issuing orders to present the sons before court in relation to the Avenfield corruption reference.

The two sons are currently based in London and have been declared ‘proclaimed offenders’ by the court. Non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued against them.
