ISLAMABAD: A month long Haj flights operation for carrying 1,43,000 Pakistani pilgrims to Saudi Arabia would begin from Monday, said an official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

Talking to APP, he said over 288 Haj flights would go to Saudi Arabia. The Haj operation would conclude on October 9. As many as 122 buildings have already been hired to accommodate 86,021 Government Scheme pilgrims. The Haj operation would be conducted from Karachi, Quetta, Islamabad, Sukkur, Peshawar and other cities. The boarding cards would be issued to the intending pilgrims at their respective Haji camps. The vaccination of the intending pilgrims would continue in the Haji Camps from Sept 2 to Oct 9, he said.

The ministry has made a special help line operational to facilitate the intending Hujjaj. All Hujjaj could get Haj information from the helpline 0800-77000; 0800-1166622. The complaints could also be registered at the website of the ministry.

The complaints would be monitored personally by the minister, secretary Religious Affairs. The complaint data would help improving future Haj operations.

An 11 member Haj Advisory Committee would monitor the entire Haj operation. Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, state minister, secretary and chairmen of the standing committees (Religious Affairs) of National Assembly and Senate would be among the members of the committee.

A 540-member Haj Medical Mission would remain present in Saudia for providing medical facilities to the intending pilgrims. As many as 230 Mauvineed-e-Hujjaj, 270 seasonal staff and 900 local Muavneen would be present at the Saudia for assisting the pilgrims.
