ISLAMABAD: Stressing the need of betterment of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), President Mamnoon Hussain said on Wednesday that the government would soon introduce new laws in this regard that will bring about positive results.

He expressed these views while addressing a gathering of the students of Islamia College University Peshawar and Islamia College Lahore, at Presidency, in connection with the birthday celebration of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said the operationalisation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will help boost economic activities and create ample jobs in the country, and asked the youth to be ready to benefit from these opportunities.

Mamnoon said as the current educational curriculum does not match the modern-day demands and the government would soon introduce educational reforms for which work in underway. “To achieve our status in the comity of nation, we are once again required to exhibit the spirit of Pakistan Movement, so that we can strengthen our country’s economy by eliminating corruption and immorality,” he remarked. The president said the country’s youth can play an effective role in the fight against corruption. He said the projects initiated by the present government will change the destiny of the country.

Mamnoon said Islamia College Peshawar, Islamia College Lahore, Aligarh University and Sindh Madrassatul Islam Karachi played a very important role in Pakistan Movement. “This movement has not yet ended, but is continuing and it relates with the struggle for national solidarity and unity, and through this struggle, we have to eliminate corruption and immorality from the country,” he urged, while calling upon the youth to root out despondency, focus on their education and fulfil their responsibilities with honesty.
