LAHORE: Political and religious parties have demanded the government to part ways with the US war on terror that was causing a heavy loss to the country.
Noted leaders of religious and political parties, clerics and defence experts while addressing the Pakistan Defence Council (PDC) public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday asked the rulers to honour 'the public mandate'.
They demanded Islamabad to part ways with Washington, in what they called, war against Muslims and its dictates to award MFN status to India.
The gathering of Lahoris was a clear message that Pakistani nation was fully prepared to fight if US waged war against the country, the speakers said, adding that it was the time Pakistan must shrug off the US slavery in which a coward and traitor general threw the country since the nation had already paid too heavy a price for being used as a tissue paper in the US war.
They took oath from the restive participants that if rulers restored the NATO supply line then the entire nation should come out on streets against the rulers. The leaders of PDC also vowed to support Kashmiris' freedom struggle against Indian occupant army and warned the rulers that self respecting Pakistani Muslims hated trade and cultural ties with India. They said that Delhi stole Pakistan's rivers, occupied Kashmir, massacred Indians Muslim and razed Babari mosque.
However, the absence of leaders of PML-N and JUI-Fazl were felt and several speakers condemned them without directly mentioning their names, and said they proved they were on the US side.
Several leaders from Sikh, Christian and Hindu communities were also present on the occasion to express solidarity with the Muslim majority against the US aggressive designs against the country.
Maulana Samiul Haq said that the conference served its purpose well by pulling the nation out of the despair which coward generals and boot-licker political leaders had thrown the country, giving a fresh hope that now Musharraf's policies would be reversed and masses were ready to wage jihad against the US.
Hafiz Saeed warned that a defeated Washington was trying to attack Pakistan and destroy its nuclear assets to cover up its humiliation in Afghanistan. He said it was the time we shun the US war against Muslims and start fighting Pakistan's war against its enemies. He warned that the nation would never accept MFN status to India and would not allow this decision to sail through parliament.
Former ISI chief Gen (r) Hameed Gull said a temporary cut in NATO supply line had played havoc with the rank and file of the defeated NATO forces in Afghanistan but rulers had no vision to think how crippled the invaders would become if supply line was permanently cut off.
Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rasheed said Islamic system of Khilafat had started marching towards Pakistan from Egypt, Tunis and Libya. He asked Pakistanis that they need not fear from US and India, which posed no threat to the country but real threat was from the corrupt rulers who plundered the national wealth leaving the masses as paupers.
End.
