Govt taking concrete steps to empower women in society: Sumera Malik

ISLAMABAD: Minister for women development Sumera Malik has said government is taking firm steps to empower women in the society in all respects. She said this while addressing certificate award ceremony held here Thursday in national library under Human welfare and nature conservation society and Hobara International Pakistan. She told government was going to launch several programs to provide employment opportunities to hard working women to enable them to spend a better life by utilizing their potential. The women constitutes half of the population of the country, she said adding they are playing their respective role in every walk of life. Government will further strengthen the women through legal way to provide protection to them. She went on to say the present government under the leadership of President general Pervez Musharraf took historical steps for the socio economic development of the country and gave their due right to the women. Sumera Malik distributed certificates among the women participants.
