Govt has failed, people frustration is boiling: Justice Jawwad

ISLAMABAD: Justice Jawwad S Khawaja has remarked government has failed and people frustration is boiling.
He further remarked "SC is realized every day that departments will run only if court takes notice. This is failure of good governance. Government has failed and people frustration is boiling. CDA chairman should forget holidays and address the problems facing the people."
Division already existed in society but now division has been created on the issue of use of water. Rich are drinking mineral water but the remaining are forced to drink unhygienic water. Capital Development Authority (CDA) is not a development authority now but it has turned into Capital Destruction Authority.
Justice Dost Muhammad Khan has remarked "Half population of Islamabad is drinking mineral water and. Drinking water here is not fit for drinking by the animals. Earlier the water was so clean that even the smallest thing could be seen but now a 5-year old child can not be seen if he falls into it. Why the CDA be not declared Municipal committee because no aspect of development can be seen therein."
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal and other lawyers appeared in the court. Chairman CDA requested the court to give him time to file detailed reply and the court accepted his request.
Justice Dost Muhammad observed "CDA is creating danger over the heads of people in the shape of bill boards in return for money. Neither any mechanism nor any system in respect of bill boards is in place. These are posing life threats."
Afnan Karim Kundi advocate said "we will file report in this regard".
Justice Jawwad S Khawaja while pointing to those staging dharnas remarked "good governance has failed and people frustration is boiling."
The court sought detailed reply from CDA chairman till October, 15 and adjourned the hearing of the case.
