French photographer kidnapped in Kabul freed after 3 months

KABUL: According to reports, a French photographer abducted by unknown gunmen in capital Kabul has been freed from the hostage takers.
Officials in Afghan interior affairs ministry said the French photographer was abducted in Kabul city around three months back.
Interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi said the French photographer was abducted by four gunmen in Kabul during the month of November last year.
Mr. Sediqi further added that the French photographer was freed from central-eastern Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan.
It is yet not clear who had abducted the photographer, Sediq Sediqi said adding that it was not clear how the French citizen was freed from the hostage takers.
Kidnappings, mostly of wealthy Afghans, have been on the rise around the country, and foreigners living in Kabul also are seen as targets.
