Four terrorists arrested with suicide jackets in Lahore

LAHORE: The sensitive agencies personnel arrested four terrorists and recovered suicide jackets, explosives and weapons from their possession during an action on Wednesday 29,April,2015.
Intelligence sources said that the sensitive agencies personnel responding to an intelligence report launched a crackdown in Youhanaabad locality of the provincial capital. During operation four terrorists identified as Mir Khan, Abdul Rehman, Zarab Khan and Ameer Khan were detained. Suicide jackets, huge cache of modern weaponry and explosive material were recovered from the possession of the detainees stated to be belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Mohmand Agency. The nabbed terrorists were also told to be having links with attack on Catholic Church in Youhanaabad. The arrested terrorists were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation and more arrests were expected in the light of information gleaned from the detainees.
Woman arrested with gold: The custom officials foiled a bid to smuggle two kilogram pure gold and arrested two smugglers here on Wednesday. The custom officers searched baggage of two passengers who arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore from Dubai via private airline flight. During search two kilogram of high quality gold was recovered from possession of passengers Rafique and Sara Begum. In the preliminary interrogation the accused revealed that they used to work as goldsmith in Pakistan, they smuggle gold into the country from abroad, prepare jewelry and sell it back into Dubai.
Accused escapes: A fraud accused on Wednesday managed to escape from the Lahore High Court premises with the help of a lawyer after dismissal of his bail application. The accused Ghulam Haider had approached the court for bail in a fraud case and the matter was fixed before Justice Sardar Tariq Masood. During the hearing, the defence counsel contended that the anti-corruption department had registered a case against his client on baseless allegations. He pleaded the court to grant benefit of bail to his client for being an innocent.
However, a prosecutor submitted that the accused was a employee of Rescue 1122 and he defrauded a man on pretext of securing a job for him whereas the anti-corruption department had registered a case against him. He pleaded the court to dismiss his bail application. The court after hearing arguments dismissed the bail application. Later, an inspector of anti-corruption tried to arrest the accused when he came out of the courtroom but he managed to escape from the scene with help of a lawyer.
