KARACHI: The youth of our country possesses all the capabilities to build a prosperous future of Pakistan.

The need is to canalise their potential in the right direction, said Dr Farooq Sattar, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis at the inaugural session of NICE Student Week 2013 by Newports Institute of Communications and Economics, here on Sunday.

He applauded the efforts of management, faculty, and students for organising such an event at a time when our beloved country is facing some hard times. He emphasised upon the importance of educated youth and their responsibilities in uplifting the image of Pakistan at the international arena.

He challenged the students to complete their education and contribute towards the national development.

Speaking on the occasion, NICE Rector, Huma Bukhari, shared that Newports Institute is continuously engaged in activities that not only enriches the students' knowledge level but goes beyond to prepare socially responsible business leaders of tomorrow.

Director, QEC, Ms. Bushra Raza highlighted the series of seminars, guest lectures, field trips and leisure events during student week that will rejuvenate the students and would boost their confidence to challenge the prevailing fear and crisis with high intellect and full enthusiasm.

A total of more than 65 activities will be held as part of Student Activity Week 2013 promoting student interaction with leading dignitaries from government, corporate sector, and academia.

End.
